We’re sharing two key updates related to Socket Mobile’s CaptureSDK:

1) End of Support for Xamarin CaptureSDK

In line with our efforts to remain compatible with supported development platforms, Socket Mobile is officially ending support for the Xamarin CaptureSDK. Microsoft discontinued Xamarin support in May 2024, and we will no longer maintain or release updates to our Xamarin SDK. Developers still using Xamarin are encouraged to migrate to our .NET MAUI-supported framework for ongoing development.

2) Private Access to CaptureSDK Ending in June 2025

CaptureSDK was previously available through a private, firewalled repository accessible only via the Socket Mobile Developer Portal. Since December 2024, CaptureSDK has been openly accessible on public platforms, and we will permanently shut down access to the private SDK repository in June of this year.

You can now find CaptureSDK on the following public platforms:

This move supports our ongoing commitment to transparency and accessibility by offering robust integration tools that are easy to obtain and implement across many development environments.

We’re excited about this next stage for CaptureSDK and are here to support your success. If you have questions, feedback, or need guidance using CaptureSDK on public platforms, our support team is available to assist.

Developer Support Now Available via GitHub

We are also transitioning our developer support process to GitHub to offer a more efficient and user-friendly experience. Developers can now raise issues directly in the appropriate GitHub repository for their platform.

Before raising a support request, we recommend checking the developer documentation for answers to common questions and integration best practices.
