Upcoming Removal of Older CaptureSDK Versions for Android
Dev Community Updates by Long PanWe are reaching out to notify you about an upcoming change to our repository concerning the Socket Mobile CaptureSDK for Android.
On August 4th, 2023, we will remove older versions of the Socket Mobile SDK for Android from our repository.
After this date, only the latest version of CaptureSDK, 1.6.15, will be available in our repository. If you are currently using an SDK version older than 1.6.15, you must update to the latest version before the August 4th deadline. Please also note that the required targeted Android API level will be 27 or above. To get the latest SDK, please follow these instructions.
We understand that this change may be inconvenient for some developers, however, we believe it is necessary to improve the security and reliability of our SDK repository. If you are unable to update to the latest version of CaptureSDK to support Android 8 or an older version, we recommend keeping a local copy of your current SDK version. This will allow you to continue using the SDK after it is removed from our repository.
We will also continue to maintain snapshot versions of the SDK for beta releases. These versions are not intended for production use, but they may be useful for developers who need to test new features or bug fixes before they are released in the official SDK.
We apologize for any disruption this may cause, and we remain dedicated to supporting you during this transition. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us by sending your feedback here or through the developer support email.
Thank you for your understanding.
