Socket Mobile’s 25th Anniversary

From large plugin barcode scanners, to pocket computers, to today’s durable, colorful and attachable line of barcode scanners, Socket Mobile continues to push itself forward with the demands of businesses and consumers.

Socket Mobile started as a company that developed plugin peripherals for early mobile devices.  Our first products were serial and Ethernet cards to connect mobile devices to other mobile devices and to networks.  By the mid 90’s we developed devices that sent emails wirelessly to mobile devices. We later introduced Bluetooth and plugin barcode scanners that paved the way to a more specific form of data capture technology.

Being innovative isn’t just about setting the standard for your industry; it’s about foreseeing the consumers’ future needs before they do. We strive to meet those needs with improved technology, developing tools that enhance the methods and experiences of end users.

Yesterday’s large, grey, plugin barcode scanners have morphed into today’s handheld scanners with Bluetooth® wireless technology. We offer the Series 7 with colorful options, the durable DuraScan models and even attachable barcode scanners with the 800 Series to meet versatile demands.

We hope the coming years will be filled with even more innovative ideas to benefit the tech industry, as well as industries using data capture technology. Even though so much has been accomplished, we still have a long to-do list of projects that we cannot wait to share with the world. Keeping the momentum is what keeps our company thriving.
